I grew up in northeast Ohio, attended The Ohio State University and graduated with a degree in history. After nearly ten years as a police officer for the City of South Euclid I began the study of law - at night - at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law while continuing to work as a police officer. I graduated law school in December 2006 and passed the Ohio bar in February 2007. During law school I spent the summer of 2005 studying law at St. Petersburg State University in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation, and served as an extern to Judge Christopher A. Boyko for the United States Federal District Court in the Northern District of Ohio from January until May 2006.

Immediately upon graduation from law school I worked as an attorney for a mid-sized Cleveland law firm where I sucessfully defended the firm's clients in criminal matters. I then served as staff attorney to the Honorable Kay Woods, United States Bankruptcy Judge, from August 2007 until August 2008. Since leaving the court I have been the Assistant Chief of Police for Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio.
